Greenwave Memorial Mailbag
James, Debbie, & Al....what a
wonderful idea, much better even than the bell. Thank all three of you for
your tireless efforts in this endeavor. Johnny & I will certainly be
sending a donation and challenge all other former GREENWAVES to do the
same. Those were wonderful days and we were all blessed to have been part
of such an outstanding high school. The GREENWAVE memorial will be an
everlasting memory of the teachers, adminstrators, and students that did so much
to take us to the top in literary, academics, and sports.

James,
What a great honor to
all who have passed away to a better place. My daddy (Edward Woodard) was
a Greenwave!
Thanks to all of you!

Hi James,
How is
everything and everybody in Fort Valley? I was told that you send
out a newsletter about the Fort Valley happenings, etc. I also received an
email about the mighty GREENWAVE.
Tommy (Tom) Bridges and I (class of 63) have started working on a
class reunion for next summer to join the efforts of the class of
64 at Pineola Farms. Hopefully, we will be able to get some
contributions for
the GREENWAVE (WHICH I LOVE!)
through this endeavor. Please put me on your email list for the newsletter.
Thanks.

Hello James,
I am a former resident of Fort Valley
and graduated from FVHS in 1963. I graduated from Auburn in 1967
and began what turned out to be a 20 year Air Force career. After
that, I worked for Lockheed Martin before retiring. I now live in upstate
New York, yet yearn for the days when I can escape from "Yankeeland". My
history, added to the fact that my family has also left the Fort Valley area,
has left me disconnected from what is happening in what I consider to be my
hometown.
Several sources have told me that you
a write a "newsletter" that you periodically e-mail to those who are
interested. I would certainly appreciate your considering adding me to
your distribution. Thank you in advance for including
me.
I trust all is well with you and your
family.
Regards,
Tom (Tommy) Bridges

Dear James,
I am a proud member of the Class of
1965 and I will be sending to you tomorrow a donation for the "Greenwave".
I was proud to be a member of the Lady
Greenwaves Basketball teams from 1961-1965. I challenge
all members of those teams to donate in honor of our two wonderful coaches,
Faircloth and Niblett. I know that Coach Faircloth and Coach Niblett would
be honored and proud that this statue is being erected.
Being a Fort Valley Greenwave was a
wonderful experience and helped mould many of us into the person or people we
are today. Two , Four, Six, Eight, who do we appreciate? Fort Valley
Greenwave! Yea, Yea. I loved and remember each day of Fort Valley
High School with love and appreciation.
Next week, my husband Tim and
I will attend his 50th class reunion in Vancouver, Washington. We are
looking forward to seeing many of his classmates, who have become my
friends. He also graduated from FVHS, we have lots in common. His
FVHS became another school after he graduated, just as ours did. I would
love to hear from my classmates and start planning a 50th reunion for
us.
Go Fort Valley, let's get
the Greenwave done.
My best to all of my high school
classmates and lets get this done.
James, thanks for keeping all of us
informed about Fort Valley. I really miss being there -sometime. Weather in
North Carolina makes a big difference.

James, I think this is great. The
class of 56 held a reunion a couple of weeks ago and talked about a move to
preserve the old high school building if possible. I found out a few days ago
that the BOE has given the property to DDA and that it will be turned into
senior apartments. If this is true, then maybe we can help with this project. I
will get back in touch with you on
it.

Will the memorial be
placed on the Knoxville St campus.................and has this been put in
writing by the Board of Education? That's a fine idea......good
luck...........my check is in the mail. We think we have determined that the
life span of FVHS was 1912-1970. But that should be verified before
putting on the Memorial.

this is better than the bell! I will forward this to the class of 68

Good
Morning, I want to ask you personally to add me to your email list.
Danny Evans e-mailed me the info for Fort Valley School Greenwaves

Mathis just told me he was “violated” at the courthouse! Ha! Ha! Send more

James we are in the initial stage of planning a
1969/1970 Class Reunion next year. This will be at the top of our
agenda and I would like to install a contribution to this fund in
the registration fee. Will be in touch and it looks really good and
hopefully they can inject some GREEN color to the
model when completed.

James,
Thanks for the e-mail
information concerning the memorial. This
is a great idea and thank everyone for me. If a dedication ceremony
is planned, let me know because I would love to
attend. I'm sorry I missed the reunion, but I
hope I can make it next year.
Take Care and God
Bless.
