This letter is from Iris,
(English name) one of the interpreters that I met on my first trip to China. She
served as an interpreter on our second trip as well. Iris is a very
sweet person who has a small child of her own. This letter is in response to a
letter I sent to her inquiring as to her safety and well
being.

James,
I really appreciate all of your care and prayers
and thank God, my families and I are fine. And all my colleagues are
well.
In general, Chengdu is OK but Dujiang Dam and Pengzhou County
because they are near from the earthquake center Wenchuan.
Municipal and
District government and Bureaus are busy, especially Commercial Bureau (I work
at) have responsibility to organize materials for Disaster Zone and hurted
people. Hospitals are very busy too.
