As always, my favorite pastime is reading and publishing comments from
the members of the Spamination Society. These were the responses
on the recent trip to San Francisco.
My phavorite (only) niece, Meri Hart Khoury was the first to respond
with these comments:
Who took all these pics? I didn't realize you were such the professional photographer!
Glad you had a good time--you didn't mention anything of being stranded in Honolulu. ???
Meri Khoury
Sharpsburg, Ga.
Dear Meri,
I took most of them, but I can't take credit for all of them. Some of the photos were professional pictures from a disk I purchased. I felt the professional pictures more adequately portrayed the beautiful scenery that I experienced.
I did fail to mention that on the return flight from Honolulu, we experienced
engine problems and had to return to Honolulu on two different occasions. The first time we had flown for 45 minutes before returning. The second time was after we had flown for an hour and a half before returning back to Honolulu. We finally left for good on the third flight (nonstop on a different airline) about 12 hours behind schedule.
I was beginning to think that I was checked in at the Hotel California...."Where you can check out, but (you) can never leave" or I was reliving the same day over and over again like the movie Ground Hog Day. There are no runways between Honolulu and San Francisco. Needless to say we were glad to have our feet back on the ground in Georgia.

James,
I didn't know about your photography talents! I'm impressed! Thanks for the great pictures:-)

Former Fort Valley Mayor Paul Reehling (a.k.a. St. Paul the Great) gives a little advice to a fellow elected official:
good photo report...you two looked like a pair of "Hobids" in that tree....stop wasting the county's scarce treasure...you are addicted to luxury events...try to give these things up...give the "little folks" a break!
Paul Reehling
(Macon, Ga.)
Dear St. Paul,
I'm sure in your 10 years as mayor you never wasted a dime's worth of taxpayer's treasure. By the way, do you still have that luxury yacht at
Florence Landing?

Former classmate Sandra Mittica sent these comments from Gonzales, Louisiana:
Wonderful pictures, James. Thanks so much for sharing. Look forward to the next ones. Sandra

Fellow County Commissioner Thomas Palmer enjoyed the beautiful scenery as well:
James:
Thanks for sharing the scenery with me. I will use this as my vacation for 2005.

Dear Tom,
Glad you could save some money by using my pictures as your vacation.

My phavorite cousin in Griffin, Ga., Linda Smaha Collins, sent this message:
Dear James and Cheryl,
Thanks for the travel log. I'm sure glad that you left that place before the big earthquake hits it. Glad you are safe back in Peach County. David loves the Peach County polo shirt and wore it to work at his new job in Norcross, Ga. at "Lifewave, INC".

My "Other Daughter" Jana Herbert Anthoine had these comments for her "Other Dad":
That's so much fun. I know you had a marvelous time! What'd you bring me back???? Just kidding. You always have to ask your "parents" that when they come back from a trip. I know your girls asked, didn't they?
Love, jana
(Macon, Ga.)
Dear Jana,
Your real parents were the beneficiaries of a fresh pineapple and chocolate covered Macadamia nuts. I hope they shared them with you. Look forward to having you as a neighbor soon when you move into your new house on Woolfolk Road.

Jana's "Real Dad" had these comments about the trip:

This is the only thing worth anything in your email. I'm surprised she put up with you for 10 days!!
Rock
(Route 2, 'moneyfields')
Dear 'Rock',
Actually she has put up with me for a lot longer than that. About 34 years, three months and four days to be exact.

Mary Pearson evidently disagrees with The 'Rock on the merits of the photos and notes there are some other things worth mentioning:

James,
Just thought you might want to know (if you didn't already) ..the fountain with the mermaid at Ghiradelli Square was made by Als aunt from San Francisco, sculpturist Ruth Asawa. She had to install it at night because the tenants in Ghiradelli Square were so opposed to having a figure (the mermaid) that was nude from the waste up. My how times have changed.

Dear Mary,
I was made aware by Tom Turner (from Marshallville) before I left on the trip to be sure and go to Ghiradelli Square and see the beautiful fountain designed by Al's aunt. Also, The 'Rock' made mention of the same thing upon our return.
